Healthcare should provide enough time for you to explain your concerns, understand your options, and participate meaningfully in decisions about your health.
At Ask Dr. Hu, we provide personalized concierge medicine and naturopathic medical care for eligible patients throughout Sierra Vista and surrounding Southern Arizona communities. Our approach combines convenient telemedicine, preventive healthcare, detailed laboratory interpretation, chronic condition management, and individualized treatment planning.
Sierra Vista is a distinctive high-desert community closely connected to Fort Huachuca and its military, intelligence, cybersecurity, aviation, and civilian-support missions. The area is also home to families, working professionals, business owners, outdoor enthusiasts, and retirees who may value flexible access to medical care. Fort Huachuca is adjacent to Sierra Vista and remains a major economic and employment center for Cochise County.
Whether you are managing an ongoing medical condition, reviewing abnormal laboratory results, working toward better long-term health, or simply looking for a physician who has time to listen, our goal is to provide thoughtful care centered around your medical history, preferences, and health goals.
Sierra Vista patients may choose our ongoing concierge medicine membership or request certain individual medical services without becoming a member.
A Flexible Healthcare Option for Sierra Vista and Cochise County
Sierra Vista residents often balance work, family responsibilities, military schedules, caregiving, travel, and other commitments. A routine follow-up appointment or laboratory review should not always require rearranging an entire day.
Through secure telemedicine, many appointments can be completed from home, work, or another private location within Arizona. Depending on the medical concern, virtual care may be appropriate for:
Routine follow-up appointments
Laboratory-result review
Medication management
Chronic condition monitoring
Preventive health consultations
Nutrition and lifestyle counseling
Medical weight-management follow-up
Hormone-therapy monitoring
Certain minor acute concerns
General medical guidance and care coordination
When a physical examination, procedure, imaging study, laboratory collection, or other hands-on service is necessary, we will explain the limitations of telemedicine and help determine an appropriate next step.
What Is Concierge Medicine?
Concierge medicine is a relationship-centered healthcare model designed to provide patients with greater physician access, longer appointments, and better continuity of care.
In many traditional medical practices, physicians must manage large patient panels and move rapidly from one appointment to the next. A concierge practice intentionally cares for fewer patients, allowing the physician to become more familiar with each person’s health history, current concerns, medications, treatment response, and long-term goals.
The Ask Dr. Hu concierge membership is designed for patients who value:
Direct communication with their physician
Longer, more detailed appointments
Convenient virtual visits
More responsive scheduling when possible
Preventive health planning
Chronic disease management
Comprehensive laboratory review
Medication management
Nutrition and lifestyle guidance
Care coordination and specialist referrals
A continuing physician-patient relationship
Eligible patients throughout Arizona may request membership. Many services can be provided through telemedicine, while others may require an examination, diagnostic testing, or in-person treatment.
Patients who are still learning about this model can read our physician guide, What Is Concierge Medicine?
Concierge Medicine With a Naturopathic Approach
Ask Dr. Hu provides concierge care through the perspective of licensed Arizona naturopathic physicians.
Naturopathic medicine does not mean avoiding conventional medical care or relying exclusively on natural therapies. It means evaluating the whole patient and considering a broad range of appropriate, evidence-informed options.
Depending on your health needs, an individualized plan may include:
Prescription medication when clinically appropriate
Laboratory and diagnostic testing
Nutrition counseling
Exercise and movement recommendations
Sleep and stress-management strategies
Preventive screenings
Evidence-informed nutritional supplements
Weight-management support
Hormone evaluation
Coordination with specialists
Long-term health and wellness planning
Treatment is not based on a standardized protocol given to every patient. Recommendations are developed from your medical history, symptoms, examination findings when applicable, laboratory results, safety considerations, personal preferences, and health goals.
You can learn more in our physician-authored guide, What Is Naturopathic Medicine?.
Medical Services Available to Sierra Vista Patients
Ask Dr. Hu offers ongoing concierge care and select individual medical services for eligible Arizona patients. Some services can be completed virtually, while others require laboratory testing, medical records, a physical examination, or an in-person appointment.
Concierge Primary Care
Our concierge membership provides ongoing medical support for patients who want a closer and more accessible relationship with their physician.
Care may include preventive health planning, medication review, chronic condition management, acute-care guidance, laboratory interpretation, specialist coordination, and continued support as your healthcare needs change.
Concierge care may help patients managing concerns such as:
High blood pressure
Elevated cholesterol
Prediabetes and type 2 diabetes
Thyroid conditions
Fatigue
Sleep difficulties
Nutritional deficiencies
Weight-related concerns
Hormone-related symptoms
Chronic musculoskeletal pain
Multiple medications
Several overlapping medical conditions
Concierge medicine does not replace emergency care or every medical specialist. Patients should call 911 or seek appropriate emergency care for potentially life-threatening symptoms.
Preventive Care and Health Optimization
Preventive healthcare focuses on identifying health risks before they result in significant symptoms or complications.
An individualized preventive evaluation may address:
Blood pressure and cardiovascular risk
Blood sugar and diabetes risk
Cholesterol and lipid health
Nutrition and physical activity
Sleep quality
Stress and emotional well-being
Weight and body composition
Family medical history
Hormone-related concerns
Age-appropriate health screenings
Medication and supplement use
Healthy aging
The goal is not to order every available test. The goal is to select appropriate evaluations and use the findings to develop practical recommendations for your health.

Laboratory Testing and Result Interpretation
Laboratory testing may provide valuable information about cardiovascular health, blood sugar, kidney and liver function, thyroid health, hormone levels, nutrient status, inflammation, and other areas of health.
However, receiving a laboratory report is not the same as understanding what it means.
We take time to review results in context, explain significant findings, identify meaningful trends, and discuss whether lifestyle changes, medication, repeat testing, additional evaluation, or specialist care may be appropriate.
Testing is selected according to your symptoms, medical history, medications, risk factors, and health goals. It is not based on a universal package given to every patient.
Our guide to Understanding Laboratory Testing explains how common laboratory tests are used and why medical context matters when interpreting results.
Medical Weight Management
Weight can be influenced by nutrition, physical activity, sleep, stress, medications, hormone changes, insulin resistance, medical conditions, and other factors.
Our physician-supervised weight-management services may include lifestyle counseling, nutrition guidance, laboratory monitoring, behavioral strategies, and prescription medication such as GLP-1 therapy when medically appropriate.
Medication is not automatically suitable for every patient. Eligibility, contraindications, potential side effects, expected benefits, costs, and monitoring requirements are reviewed before treatment is prescribed.
Hormone Replacement Therapy
Changes in hormone levels may affect energy, sleep, mood, sexual health, body composition, temperature regulation, menstrual patterns, and overall well-being.
A hormone evaluation begins with a detailed review of symptoms, medical history, current medications, risk factors, and relevant laboratory results.
When treatment is clinically appropriate, patients receive an individualized plan with follow-up monitoring and medication adjustments based on symptoms, laboratory findings, safety, and treatment response.
Integrative Pain Management
Musculoskeletal pain may result from injuries, arthritis, joint dysfunction, tendon or ligament conditions, muscle tension, nerve irritation, or other underlying concerns.
Our integrative pain-management services begin with an individualized evaluation to understand the possible source of pain and how it affects movement and daily activities.
Depending on the condition and examination findings, recommendations may include conservative care, rehabilitation, acupuncture, trigger-point treatment, diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound, ultrasound-guided procedures, perineural injection therapy, prolotherapy, platelet-rich plasma, corticosteroid injections, or referral to another healthcare professional.
Pain procedures and other hands-on treatments require an appropriately arranged in-person evaluation and cannot be performed through telemedicine.
Arizona Medical Marijuana Evaluations
Patients with a qualifying condition may request an evaluation for Arizona medical marijuana certification.
The evaluation includes a review of the diagnosis, available medical records, previous treatment, current medications, potential risks, and whether certification is medically appropriate under current Arizona requirements.
Certification is not guaranteed simply because an appointment is requested. Patients can review our Arizona Medical Marijuana Patient Guide before scheduling.
Medical Documentation
Ask Dr. Hu also provides medical documentation services for appropriate employment, disability, educational, military, veteran, insurance, and healthcare-related needs.
Documentation may include medical-leave forms, workplace accommodations, physical-clearance forms, return-to-work evaluations, disability paperwork, letters of medical necessity, veteran-related medical opinions, and other physician-completed documents.
An appointment, record review, physical examination, supporting documentation, or additional testing may be required. A physician can only make statements that are medically supportable based on the available evidence.
Convenient Telemedicine for Sierra Vista Patients
Telemedicine can be particularly useful for Sierra Vista residents who have demanding work schedules, care for children or family members, work on or around Fort Huachuca, live outside the center of the city, or would otherwise need to travel for a routine medical appointment.
Virtual care can allow patients to:
Discuss new symptoms
Review laboratory findings
Ask medication questions
Follow up on a treatment plan
Monitor a chronic condition
Discuss nutrition, exercise, or sleep
Review preventive health goals
Coordinate care with outside specialists
Telemedicine does have limitations. Some symptoms require an examination, urgent testing, imaging, emergency assessment, or evaluation at an appropriate in-person facility. We will let you know when virtual care is not sufficient.
Who May Benefit From Concierge Medicine?
Concierge medicine may be a good fit for Sierra Vista residents who:
Want more time to discuss their health
Prefer direct communication with their physician
Value convenient telemedicine access
Are managing one or more chronic conditions
Want a proactive approach to prevention
Need a detailed explanation of laboratory results
Have a complex medical history
Take multiple medications or supplements
Are interested in lifestyle and nutrition-based care
Need help coordinating recommendations from specialists
Prefer an ongoing relationship rather than isolated appointments
Concierge care is not limited to older adults or people with serious illnesses. It may also appeal to military households, defense professionals, parents, business owners, remote workers, caregivers, active retirees, and generally healthy adults who want to take a more proactive approach to their long-term health.

Patients should understand their options. We discuss potential benefits, limitations, risks, alternatives, costs, and monitoring expectations so that patients can make informed decisions.
Long-Term Partnership
Healthcare needs evolve over time. An ongoing relationship makes it easier to recognize changes, follow laboratory trends, evaluate treatment response, and adjust a plan as your priorities change.
